A template can be applied at the level of a creative or a position. Both levels can be combined.
A creative template is a piece of code (for example an expandable functionality that is triggered upon user interaction) that is always wrapped around a certain creative or format such as an expandable leaderboard – independent of the position.
A position template is linked to a specific position and contains a piece of code that is always wrapped around all ads that are served to that position – independent of the creative or format that is served to the specific position. For example, a position template always adds the word “Advertisement” or “Sponsored” or adds extra elements like a coloured border or frame.
